Public Works Board Membership
The Board is comprised of thirteen members who are appointed by the governor for terms of four years. It includes:
- Two elected officials and one public works manager from a list of at least six people nominated by the Association of Washington Cities.
- Two elected officials and one public works manager from a list of at least six people nominated by the Washington State Association of Counties.
- Three members appointed from a list of at least six people nominated jointly by the Washington Public Utility District Association and a state association of water-sewer districts.
- Four members appointed from the general public, with geographical composition and expertise in relevant fields taken into consideration. The governor appoints one of the general public members of the board as chair; the term of the chair coincides with the term of the governor.
Members of the Board receive no compensation, but are reimbursed for travel expenses.
